In general terms, a digital marketer is responsible for using a variety of digital channels to generate leads and build brand awareness. Digital channels include:

Social media:

focuses on social media creating an effective schedule for posts and overseeing or, in some cases, creating the posts. Again, a crossover is always possible so you might work with a content marketing specialist, SEO team, and other digital marketers as part of an overall digital marketing strategy

  • Design a Social media campaigns aligned with business goals.
  • write long- and short-form social media messages that attract new users and engage current users
  • use data to analyze what’s working, what’s not, and reinforce or refocus key messages accordingly

SEO:

you will use your SEO skills to help drive content and improve a company’s content. Your input would be used to keep content creators on target with valuable insight into the strategy required to enhance performance on search engines as well as social media.

  • Develop a web content strategy that encompasses the goals of a company and aligns with the company’s image
  • Manage the daily activities of a content team composed of writers, graphic designers, videographers, and other industry professionals
  • Maintain a content marketing calendar that schedules all aspects of the creation and delivery of content throughout the year
  • Use target keywords to write search-engine copy that is optimized for search engines (SEO) while remaining entertaining and informative
  • Stay abreast of current best practices in the industry and review competitor websites to compare their activities with those of your company
  • Analyze digital data to draw key recommendations around website optimization

Content Marketing

you must be able to create and distribute great content aligned to a content strategy to ensure you increase traffic and search rankings. You would create a plan for what formats to use and how to use them; anything from ideas for social media videos, to brand style guidelines to using memes! You might report to an SEO Manager or work in the marketing department using the SEO team’s keywords to improve your content’s effectiveness.

Qualifications for Digital Marketing

– 2+ Years of Experience in Digital Marketing

– Bachelor’s degree in marketing or business

– Must be able to juggle multiple projects at the same time

– Full understanding of all social media platforms

– Problem solving skills

– Knowledge of content management systems
